New EU Regulation on Food Contact Materials: (EU) 2025/351

New EU Regulation on Food Contact Materials: Commission Regulation (EU) 2025/351 enters into force:

On February 24, 2025, the European Commission published Regulation (EU) 2025/351 in the Official Journal of the European Union. This new regulation came into effect on March 16, 2025, introducing important updates to the legislation governing food contact materials and articles.

Specifically, it revises the following regulations:

Regulation (EC) No. 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practices (GMP)

Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 on plastic materials intended to come into contact with food

Regulation (EU) 2022/1616 on the use of recycled plastic in food contact applications

These revisions aim to strengthen safety, improve traceability, and support sustainability in food contact materials across the EU.
